No photos today, so another one of my favorites from my kids Christmas photo session.
Nikon D70, 50mm, f/8, Shutter 1/45, ISO ?, WB-Coloright , 3 Photoflex Starlite Continuous lights (main, fill, hair) and 1 Smith Victor for the background, Editied in PS (crop, smooth skin, levels, convert to B&W).
No photographs taken today... So, we get a another blast from the past. This time, I decided to see what I shot, on this day, two years ago in 2007. The cutest of the bunch is this one of my daughter all bundled up in the infant car carrier. She would be about 4 months (almost 5) in this pic.
We went to another hockey game, but I thought you might be tired of hockey shots, so even though I probably took a thousand shots (no kidding either... LOL, I still have to edit them, ugh!) I thought I would give you a hockey shot with a slight twist.
Nikon D300, 105mm VR lens, f/3.0, WB - Auto, Available light. This image is SOOC, no editing in PS.
This was such a learning process for me. I have never attempted to shoot smoke before. And I have had two Nikon speedlights for about a year now with the thoughts of learning off camera wireless flash, but I have never gotten around to it. So, I said to myself last night.. "What are you waiting for? Now is as good time as any." So after having the flashes for a year, I still needed to pull out the manual, to figure it all out. My resolution this year... no more wasting my money. Learn how to use what I own!
This is my neighbors holiday decoration. I drive by all the time and see the sun shinning on it and making it look very pretty. I just had to get out my camera at least once to try to capture the beauty.
Ok, so I went down into the basement to play a little with my camera, I had dreams of photographing the snow, in my light tent set-up and seeing the beautiful designs. About 2 seconds in, one of my two light bulbs burnt out. So I grabbed the light bulb to bring upstairs, so I could order another one, but then I decided to pop it in the tent and take a few shots of it. Compared to my really bad snow shots, I decided to post this instead. Maybe some body can tell me how make some compelling snow shots. What would your camera/lighting setup be?
I didn't take any photos today, so I thought I'd go back in time and see what I was doing one year ago on this date. So this photo is from Jan. 18th, 2008. It looks like we were at McDonald's play place.
I don't want to air my dirty laundry... but I'm gonna... (Hey, we all got it. So I'm not gonna be ashamed. LoL..) I just thought Ace peeking out was cute.
Opps... I didn't shoot a pic today. So I'll post one of my favorites from our Christmas photo session. These are the love of my life.. my precious kids.
Today's POTD is really a video of the day. I took some shots at PBR at MSG in NYC, but since they were all with a little point and shoot, they kinda sucked. LoL... but the video's came out ok (They were much better before I compressed them for the web). I really wish they would have let me bring in my "real" camera. This video is of JB Mauney, who was the winner of the event at MSG (also one of my favorite riders). Enjoy!
For those on the east coast... take note, in a snow/rain storm, you might not want to be on the roads while I'm driving home and taking pics... LoL... :)
Starting my blog a few days late, but using photos I took on the actual day. This was a late Christmas celebration with my closest friend and her fiance. (Also in photo... DH, DS, & DD w/dogs)
Well, I have never been one to journal, and I'm completely new to blogging. But a Yahoo Group, that totally inspires me, has had the idea of doing a 365 blog of photos to help us grow in our photography. I really wonder if I can keep up, but I'm gonna try. So here goes.. I hope you enjoy! and Wish Me Luck! LoL!!! - Jen
BTW - I have absolutely no idea what I am doing! :)
Welcome, I am wife to a loving husband and mother of two. Photography is my hobby and passion. Ever since when I was a little kid and my Dad said... "Don't touch! That camera is expensive!" LoL... Just wish I had more time, energy, and money to spend my days just clicking away. Until, then... I shoot when I can. I just love all aspects of photography, from click to print and everything in between. I hope you enjoy my blog and comments and constructive criticism are appreciated!
